The story start in 1973, when Tan Teng Boo seeing OCBC shares skyrocket from RM3.50 to RM50, then back to RM3.50 during a period of about one year time. It was a necessary baptism of fire for Tan, and led to him building an entire investment career.
In 1998, Tan set up a fund management’s company, a long-time fund manager dismisses the nation of quick gains. Tan’s portfolio has delivered compounded annual growth rate of 27% from 1998 to 2007. (Sounds like Warren Buffett? the world’s most successful investor).
